Jags post season party finalized!!!

Hello again Jags,

Our post season party will remain on Monday, July 6^th. We will have a Jaguars vs. Parents/Siblings scrimmage from 5-6pm at the field between Summit Ridge Middle School and Powderhorn Elementary. We will then head over to Fuddruckers for our party at 6:30pm. Fuddruckers is doing their Rett’s Syndrome fundraiser that evening, but the Kissingers have spoken with an acquaintance that is part of that fundraiser and they will set aside tables in the back room for our team. This will be a great way to end our season with a party for the Jaguars while supporting a local fundraiser.

Jags Post Season Party

I wanted to send out a quick note that Fuddruckers has informed us that they are no longer able to accommodate us on Monday evening, July 6^th. They are hosting a Rett’s Syndrome Fundraiser and now need the entire restaurant. We are working on other arrangements and will send out information as soon as we have it – “stay tuned”.

Jaguars Re-scheduled Games

Both of our postponed games have been re-scheduled:

• Monday, June 29^th 6pm game at Zang Spur Park in Broomfield. The only information I can find on this field is that it is located at W. 10th Ave. and Depot Hill Rd. Please have the kids there by 5:15pm ready to warm up. Gravlin’s you have snack for this game.
• Tuesday, June 30^th Easton South at 4pm. Please arrive by 3:15pm ready to warm up. Boyd’s you have snack for this game.

 

We are working on re-scheduling the post-season party. Another email will be sent out once the date and time are confirmed.

Tonight’s Jaguar’s game at Easton South has been cancelled due to field conditions. It has been re-scheduled for 4pm on Tuesday, June 30^th.

Jaguars End of Season Party - Reschedule

Hello all-

Since Mother Nature changed our plans last night for the Jaguars vs. Parents scrimmage (and the kids were really looking forward to it) it has been re-scheduled. We will now play on Monday, June 29^th from 5-6ish. We will play at the field that is between Summit Ridge Middle School and Powderhorn Elementary.

*****Following the scrimmage we will head over to Fuddruckers for our end of season party- this is a change from Tuesday June 30^th to Monday, June 29^th ****

We will be at the Fuddruckers on 5076 South Wadsworth Blvd, Littleton, CO 80123 beginning at 6:30pm. We have the back room reserved for our group. The “team funds” will take care of the player’s kid’s meals. Parents and guests will need to purchase their own dinner/beverages.

Practice Cancelled

Hello everyone- Happy Father’s Day!
We only have 2 more games for the Jaguars this year! I know that you will miss the weekly emails from me J.

• Tuesday, June 23^rd from 6-8pm behind Powderhorn. This will be a scrimmage – Jaguars vs. Parents – bring your gear and be ready to play ball!

• Friday, June 26^th Easton South at 6pm. Please arrive by 5:15pm ready to warm up. Boyd’s you have snack for this game.
• Saturday, June 27^th Broomfield Industrial Park at 11:30am. Please arrive by 10:45am ready to warm up. Gravlin’s you have snack for this game.

 

END OF SEASON PARTY:

Dakota Ridge Baseball Camp

The email below was sent out by the Dakota Ridge League President to the coaches about an upcoming baseball camp. You should have received a newsletter with this information, but I thought I would forward Shane’s email for your review. They are offering a discount if teams have 6 or more players register. In one of our coaches meetings we discussed this camp, and how significant it can be for the players in DRBA, but also our coaches.  The College of Southern Nevada and it's coaching staff is one of the premier Junior College programs in the nation.  In 2008, the College of Southern Nevada had nine (9) players placed with Division I scholarships and two (2) players taken in the Major League draft.  The coaches for Southern Nevada will be here June 8th through the 10th to help instruct our DRBA players, along with our Dakota Ridge High School baseball coaches.

 

This camp will be ideal for our youth to learn the fundamentals of baseball.  It will also be a great opportunity for our coaches to attend and learn as well.  ALL DRBA COACHES CAN ATTEND THE CAMP FOR FREE.  It will be a great time to get out on the field and learn; take notes and ask questions.  Please talk to your parents with regard to sending their player to the camp.  It will make a huge difference in their skills and abilities.  I understand that times are tough for some families, so I have discounted the price of the summer camp from $160.00 per player to $125.00 per player for any team who sends 6 or more players from their roster.

 

I think it is important for you to know, that all the money that is collected from this camp goes to take care of the coaches expenses to come here and to teach our kids, as well as any expenses that DRBA and the high school incur.  In fact, we find sponsors who will help us to offset some of the expenses we will incur. 

 

The camp runs from 9 am to 2 pm, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday so there should be no conflict with baseball schedules for your players.  And, if your players want some extra work, they can pay extra for a 1 hour session from 8 am to 9 am on Tuesday and Wednesday.  I would highly encourage your attendance and your players attendance.  If you are wondering if the camp is worth it, you should know that almost every player in the high school varsity program has attended one or more of these camps before.  I would also encourage you to talk Coach Jeff Legault and Coach Gerry Valerio who both have attended the camp either last year or in Las Vegas. 

 

Thank you coaches for all you do for the youth in our program, and I hope you will attend the camp and encourage your players to attend.

Jaguars Information

Hello Jags –

• We have practice this evening at Powderhorn Elementary from 6pm-8pm. We will be ordering the team jackets with some of the funds raised from the Hit-A-Thon and Poker Night. I have sample sizes for the boys to try on so we can make sure that they get the size that is right for them. If you do not plan on staying at practice tonight please plan on staying for a few minutes at drop off – or come a bit before 8 - so you can approve the jacket size for your child.
• Game tomorrow is at 5pm at Tony Grampass Field in Golden – South Field. Please have the kids there by 4:30pm ready to warm up. Gonzales’ you have snack for this game.
• We will have practice on Friday from 5-7pm at Westridge
• Monday, May 18^th will be the next game. It is a 5pm at Schaefer Athletic Complex Field #1. Please have the kids there by 4:30pm ready to warm up. Montoya’s you have snack for that game.
• Our May 29^th game has been re-scheduled to June 6^th. We will have a busy weekend that weekend with a double header on the 6^th and a game on the 7^th. All will be played at Easton Field South.
• Since we will not have any games between May 18^th and June 6^th our practices may be sporadic as all 3 of our coaches are on vacation at some point during that period. An email will be sent out once practices are determined.

5/8 Jags game

Hello all,

Friday, May 8^th is our next game. It is in Brighton- at Brighton Youth Sports Complex (also called BYBA) we are at field #3. Game time is 7:15 – please have the kids there ready to warm up no later then 6:30. Boyd’s are on for snack.

 

Sunday, May 10^th at 4:30 is up after that. Please have the kids there by 4pm ready to warm up. We are at Broomfield Industrial Park field #1 for that game. Gravlin’s have snack on Sunday.

Jaguars Team Pictures

Our team pictures have been re-scheduled to June 13^th. They will be at Dakota Ridge High School out on their field. If there is bad weather it will be moved into their gym. Jags Sunday 5/3 game info

We are scheduled to play tomorrow, May 3rd at Noon – same field as today’s games. Coaches would like the kids there at 11am ready to warm up. We are the 4^th seed and will play the 1^st seed team – the Bear Creek Bears, we faced them this afternoon. So far the game is on even though it is still raining. Jaguars team pictures

Hi all-

Our pictures have been re-scheduled to June 2nd at 4:40pm. Please have the kids there in their uniforms by 4:20. The pictures will be Clement Park at the corner of Pierce and Bowles there is a parking lot just before Pierce – go into that lot and there is a picnic area with a cover. With the registration fees that you have already paid you will receive an individual picture and a team picture with a cardboard frame. If you would like to order additional pictures you will need to fill out the form and have payment in hand. John has the forms and there will be some at the park on June 2^nd.

Jags update

I hope all of you received John’s text about practice today (Tuesday) being cancelled due to field conditions. And a text stating that we will have a light practice on Friday. May 1^st at Westridge.

 

Many of you have emailed me in regards to team pictures. You are correct that they were scheduled for May 2^nd. Since we will be playing in the May Day Tournament our team pictures will be re-scheduled. We will let you know the date/time as soon as that information is available.

Jaguars Baseball Update

Hello Jags!
Hope everyone stayed warm and dry this weekend!

-Our April 18^th game that was cancelled has been re-scheduled to this Thursday, April 23^rd at 5pm at Lilly Gulch North Field.   Please have the kids there ready to warm up by 4:30pm. Dobyns’ you have snack for that game.

-Due to that move they have moved our Friday, April 24^th game to Wednesday, May 13^th at 5pm at Tony Grampass West – Gonzales’ you have snack for that game.

POKER NIGHT ONE WEEK AWAY

Hello to all,
Poker Night is one week away, and we have had disappointing RSVP
response at this point.
I am sending this email out in the hope that part of the problem is
that some of you did not get the evite.

Please Join us for a Texas Hold-em Poker Night Fund Raiser

We will be raising money for three teams, 12 Year Old Dakota Ridge
Eagles, 8 Year Old Dakota Ridge Jaguars and the 12 year old
Cooperstown team. All adults are welcome, there is a great bar, and
non-players will have places to mingle.

Buy In will be $50 with $35 going to the teams.

Our goal is to have100 players for the fund raiser. If we have 80 or
more players, the top eight positions will be paid out at the final
table. If less then80 we will pay the top 10% of players (7 for 70-79,
six for 60-69,etc.) You will be asked at check in which team you are
supporting and the appropriate funds will be delivered to that team.

If 80 People Play, and no one buys in again, the pay out pot is$1,200.
First place will get $525, 2nd $220, 3rd $130, 4th $100, 5th$75, 6-8th
$50.

There will be two additional $25 buy-ins allowed per player,additional
buy-in will only be allowed in the first 2 hours, or when there are
50% or more of the players.

Funds raised will help the teams purchase equipment, tournament
entryfees, coaches supplies, uniforms, and counseling for the coaches.

We want to get as many people as possible to play, so if we have more
then 100 RSVP we will have a waiting list.

Jags Correction/Info

Coach John mentioned after the game the correction to the email sent out last night but I wanted to make sure everyone heard. Friday’s practice is from 4-6 at Westridge this is our usual practice. Sorry for the confusion.

Jaguars update

Hello Jaguars- another long one…

• Tomorrow’s game is at Easton Field South at 5pm. Please have the kids there ready to warm-up by 4:30. Faber’s are in charge of snack for this game.
• If you have not turned in your Hit-A-Thon pledges, or your 2 copies of birth certificates, please bring them to tomorrow’s game.
• We will have a Hit-Can at all the games –contribute to the can for each hit your child gets (i.e. a quarter per base hit). Bring your loose change and contribute to the post season team party!
• We will have practice on Friday from 4-6pm at Mt. Carbon

·         Reminder on the Poker Tournament on April 25^th –you should have all received an Evite. The buy in is $50 with $35 coming to the team. This is a great way to raise money for our team. Please forward the invitation you received last week to ALL of your friends, family, neighbors, etc. We also welcome those that don't play poker. It will just be a fun event and a great night to get to know each other better.

·         Heads up on tournaments – the 2 that coach is interested in playing in are:

o       North Jefferson Junior Baseball Association May Day Tournament - The Tournament will run May 1st, 2nd and 3rd, 2009, and will be played in Arvada, Colorado. The Tournament is a 3 game guarantee, Pool Play into Single Elimination format.

o       Rocky Mountain Invitational, June 12-14, 2009 – 4 game guarantee (Pool Play followed by Single Elimination Championship or Consolation rounds for all teams).

Its not looking very good for us to be playing on the 11th. I put our name
on a waiting list almost 3 weeks ago. I talked to the tournament director
this morning and we are still waiting on a team to cancel.

Hope all of you had a terrific spring break. We had a great time in Arizona and are now adjusting again to spring in Colorado! Another long email tonight so I can catch up…

 

Now that our regular season has begun our practices will continue to be on Tuesdays at Powderhorn Elementary from 6-8pm and on Fridays from 4-6pm at Westridge unless we have a game on those evenings or unless you hear differently.

 

I have attached a snack schedule to this email. Each family will have 1 or 2 games assigned (tournament games are not yet on the schedule). If you are unable to bring snack on the date you are assigned please swap with someone to get it covered and let me know. Also please let me know of any allergies your kids may have so I can pass that information out to the parents.

 

We have 2 games scheduled for this week:

**Thursday, April 9^th vs Green Mountain Rams at 5pm at our home field – Easton Field South.

 

The coaches would like the kids at the games fields ready to play at least 30 minutes prior to game time. Please bring your Hit-A-Thon funds to Tuesday’s game – remember any checks need to be made payable to Jaguars Baseball c/o Karen Parker. Also, if you have not turned in 2 copies of your child’s birth certificate bring them on Tuesday as well.

 

Jeff will be working on the website this weekend – it will have the game schedule with links to the fields and other information that will be useful. The site is jaguars.jeffkarendavidjoseph.com

The game today (April 4^th ) that was cancelled has already been rescheduled to June 11^th 6pm at Easton field south.

Jaguars Baseball Information

Hello Jaguars-

A few items tonight so I apologize for the long email-

• All of you should have received a test text this afternoon. If you did not receive one please email me back and I will make sure that I have your correct information. Texting will be used for any last minute changes to practices, games, etc.
• Our Hit-A-Thon is tomorrow, March 24^th, during our regular practice- 5:30-dark at Powderhorn. I will send out an email after practice with the total number of hits each player got. You can then contact those that pledged and collect your pledges. All money needs to be turned in my April 7^th. All the kids that participate will receive a coupon for a free item from Chick-fil-A (either a cone or a shake). I also have a $5 and a $10 gift card from Cold Stone that Coach John will award once pledges are turned in.
• Our team has its own website! It is on our personal server. The site will not come up on google searches (or any searches) as Jeff has placed a piece of code to make searches skip the pages. Basically you can only get to the site if you know the address. The website is http://jaguars.jeffkarendavidjoseph.com  It currently has our roster, contact information, and much more! We are working on putting in our practice and game schedules along with links to maps to all the fields. It will be updated as needed. Check it out!
• JCJBL has posted our schedule. As stated above this will soon be posted on the team’s website as well. I have attached the schedule to this email. You should check out the JCJBL website at www.jcjbl.org    You can go to schedules/standings we are 8 year old 0 league DR14.
